You know, I have mixed feels about that commercial. On the one hand, Gene and Donald, dancing together. You don’t get much better than that. On the other hand, it just feels… wrong. Like, they’re better than this. It’s like, they’ve got proper legacies and all, and they’re being used hock cars.
It reminds me of the old Dirt Devil commercials that used Fred Astaire clips, though those were more egregious, for other reasons.
That said, the original routine is brilliant. The dances done sitting down are totally recognizable, and then the climax, doing the big stuff from the “Moses” number? Love it.
